This was part of a series of drawings of an object for my Advanced Drawing class. The professor wanted us to experiment with all kinds of tools and materials. I chose King Knight as I connect with his aesthetic look immensely given Cavalier's golden armor. This was a later piece in the series, I wanted to do a piece that focused on self-conscious feelings. While brainstorming ideas this one seemed to jump out to me. I wanted him to have this beautiful colored Oil Pastel appearance on the outside but a dull drab marker appearance in the mirror. I wanted to convey that the mirror can't capture true beauty. These pieces really made me start to love oil pastels.
