Hopeless Romance
Oil Pastel
38 x 48 inches

Process
This along with Unrequited are probably my favorite pieces to come out of my series. While the proportions aren't perfect, that's what I actually wanted as I wanted it to look like a medieval tapestry. While I initially ordered an actual large canvas I found myself not wanting to paint or underdeliver as I was currently in the process of working on Cavalier Gilded and having trouble. I didn't feel confident in my ability. I made the final piece in a single day. I wanted it to look somber, as I portrayed Nyra crying while delivering a killing blow. I learned from my uncle about rendering gold. I didn't want to use gilding anymore. I'm very happy with the result. I also really enjoyed working with oil pastels, I had fun making the King Knight drawings and thought why not do something fun for a final piece instead of something stressful?
